about us : volunteer opportunities
Do you enjoy kids? Have retail experience? Speak a second language? Love to paint and decorate? Almost any interest or skill can be put to good use through volunteer opportunities at the YWCA. Apply your unique experience and talents while giving back to your local community and residents.
The YWCA Volunteer Program provides opportunities for members of Missoula and surrounding areas to participate in providing services to survivors of relationship and sexual violence and child abuse. YWCA volunteers dedicate their time to ensure our services are offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Volunteers work on our 24-hour crisis line, at our domestic violence shelter, responding to sexual assault survivors, working with our Children's Program to break the cycle of violence, providing crisis counseling and advocacy, working at our Secret Seconds store, helping with yearly events and fundraisers or serving on our Board of Directors.
Volunteering for the YWCA is a commitment of time, energy and most of all passion. Passion is what drives volunteers when hard stories are heard. Passion is what drives volunteers when it seems there is no end of relationship violence in sight. And passion is what drives volunteers when life gets chaotic, time is scarce and reserves run low. YWCA volunteers come from all walks of life. A variety of opportunities exist to ensure you can find where you fit at the YWCA. All do what they can and therefore not one contributes more than any other.
All YWCA volunteers embody our mission and our motto of “Eliminating Racism, Empowering Women.” Without their dedication and passion the YWCA would not be able to function as it does. Because of their dedication and passion survivors in Missoula have someone to walk alongside them as they reclaim their voice and their power.
Please join us at the YWCA as we work to eliminate racism and empower women. Call (406) 543-6691 for more information.
