programs : economic empowerment initiative

The YWCA Missoula’s Women’s Empowerment program aims to advance the economic situation of low-income women, beginning with those participating in Ada’s Place, the YWCA’s Transitional Housing Program. To provide job training and economic advancement, the program is composed of two parts: “apprenticeships” and job training through the Missoula Job Service. The first year is a pilot offering apprenticeships through a single site and accepting participants from the Transitional Housing Program; in subsequent years it will be expanded to include multiple sites and open to additional low-income women.
